Archive for January, 2012

At the end of September, we took a quick pulse of our customer’s expectations for year-end fundraising. Our Nonprofit Insights Survey found a majority of nonprofits to be optimistic about their year-end fundraising prospects with over one third of charities and fundraising groups believing that they would raise more in the fourth quarter of 2011 than they did during the same period in 2010.  75% of the organizations we surveyed believed they would meet or exceed their fundraising goals for 2011.  While almost a quarter projected they would fall short (see the table below).

After a quick scan online, charitable giving appears to be on the upswing for 2011, similar to our customer’s expectations.  CNN Money recently reported that charities are getting a last-minute boost from year-end donations.  While Network for Good reported year to date online giving was up 14% at the close of November 2011 versus the same period in 2010.

Now that rush is over and the final donations of 2011 are in and accounted , how did your organization do?  My sincerest hope is that the end of 2011 proved to be better than expected for all of our nonprofits.   Let us know by commenting below.
